Marvell Reid (Assistant Coach) served as coach during the 2007 season, and will continue to assist with the coaching responsibilities this season. Marvell is a graduate of Wichita State University where he was a student athlete in track and field. Marvell has coached both girls and boy competitive and recreational basketball for 5 years. This is his second season coaching with the Team Excel AAU Basketball Team. In addition to coaching and working with young people, Marvell’s interests inlcude balancing time with his family, his faith and his work. Marvell enjoys camping, fishing, personal fitness and, of course, competing. He and his wife Catherine have 2 children. marvell.reid@sbcglobal.net

Carl Gerlach (Assistant Coach) joins the coaching staff in his first year with Team Excel.  Carl attended Kansas State University where he earned a degree in Business.  He played basketball for the Wildcats for 4 years under Jack Hartman.  Carl has been involved in coaching both girls and boys basketball for 15 years.  Carl and his wife Jill have three children. cgerlach@kc.rr.com
