The players, parents and friends of Team Excel hosted a benefit celebration for Coach Todd Baugh at the home of former player Katie Gates. The party was a huge success with over 100 people in attendance. Coach Baugh’s family, friends and Team Excel family attended from as far away as Houston, Texas.

The celebration also included Todd’s 40^th birthday. The biggest surprise of the event was the unveiling of a picture of the North Court of Levo Gymnasium where the floor will be named after Coach Baugh this summer. The official name of the North Court will be “Todd Baugh Court” which will be painted as the floors get refinished later this summer. Rick Schultz presented the framed picture of the North Court to Coach Baugh at the party.

Coach Baugh was indeed taken by complete surprise by the presentation and he was immediately consumed by emotion. “I really appreciate all the thoughts and prayers that came from so many people to make this remotely possible”, Coach Baugh said. “To dedicate a basketball court to me is more than I could have ever imagined. I really enjoy teaching the game to young people….it is difficult to believe that so many others place so much value in what I love to do and I greatly appreciate it.”
